Spring Events in Vail Colorado
Spring is an amazing time to come and visit Vail, Colorado. Not just for the skiing but all the additional fun that happens on and off the slopes.
Here is a short list of Spring events.
Vail Village Feb 25-26
Vail has it’s own Mardi Gras celebration called Carnivail! It’s as most people expect with a parade, mini- parties on the mountain and around Vail. A Craw-fish Boil, apres specials and live music. The festivities happen from noon to 6:00pm. But we are sure you can find some fun later in the evening as well.
Gold Peak on Vail Mountain Feb 27-March 4th.
The 35th Annual Burton US Open Snowboarding Championships return to Vail, Colorado! This is considered a premier snowboarding event for the 2017 competitive snowboarding season. Majority of the world’s top pro’s in both slopestyle and halfpipe will be here to compete. IF you are have never watch a snowboard competition you will be amazed and surprised at the level of skill of these riders. It’s exciting to watch and exhilarating to experience in person!
Burton US Open Halfpipe Junior Jam features top amateurs competing for a chance to ride alongside the pros.
It wouldn’t be a premier snowboarding event without entertainment! Each night during The US Open also there will be free musical performances, daily après specials, and fun activities and events for all ages including a broomball tournament, the annual Chill fundraiser, a kids learn-to-ride Riglet park, Burton Girls Ride Days and gatherings as well as the closing party at the Dobson Ice arena.

Vail, Colorado March 25th
Many people are affected by cancer and around the globe people raise funds for a cure. We are Vail so of course we choose to have a ski day to raise funds for our local Shaw Cancer Center.
Pink Vail is a fundraiser that brings nearly 3,000 people, dressed in pink, together on Vail Mountain for an all-day event with live music, deck parties, costume contest and more. Pink Vail proceeds benefit all patients at Shaw Regional Cancer Center through improvements to patient care and by funding our Spirit of Survival program, providing all patients the opportunity to receive free exercise training, nutrition coaching, emotional support, massages, acupuncture, outdoor adventures and much more. These unique services can dramatically impact a patient’s quality of life, but are not typically covered by insurance.
Last year Pink Vail Raised $734,611 from donations of the pink vail teams and their participants.
Vail, Colorado March 30th – April 2nd
It’s back from another year, once of the top film festivals, held right here in Vail, Colorado. What makes this film festival spectacular is the amazing submissions from film makers but as a visitor you get to be part of the action. The films and parties are accessible to the average person not reserved only for stars and people in the industry. Everyone is welcome and you have the opportunity to meet filmmakers, writers, critics, performers. It’s a fantastic experience for movie lovers. There are parties and panels open to everyone.
Vail, Colorado April 5-8
The Taste of Vail is a food and wine festival held every spring in Vail, Colorado! Chefs from around Vail about 30 of them showcase their best work giving you the opportunity to taste everything. Wine makers from around Colorado and the rest of the US are also invited. This year the events include Debut of Rose, Lamb Cook-off and Apres Tasting, Blend with one of the Best, Bob Iantosca from Gloria Ferrer Caves & Vineyards, Riesling Rising: Refined, Expressive & Dry, Grenache Tasting, Taste of Vail Blind Tasting, Hard to Handle: Perfect Pairings for Difficult Dishes and The Grand Tasting.
