What’s New in Vail Winter 2015-2016

 In Vail Experience

7 new additions to Vail for the winter season 2015-2016. Updated Feb 29th 2016.

10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room

One of our new favorites in its second year is 10th Mountain Whiskey tasting room.

Located in Vail Village, across from Russell’s, above Loaded Joe’s. Locally owned the 10th Mountain Whiskey and Spirit Company crafts their spirits from locally grown ingredients from the mountains surrounding Vail, Colorado.

The tasting room is not a bar it’s a tasting space allowing you settle in and sip a variety of handcrafted whiskeys, bourbons and potato vodkas. Each night they offer a special craft cocktail served on the rocks or sampled neat. The rustic decor of beaten wood barrel, distressed planks and old wood carvings is charming and warm. Everything is for sale from the barrels to the hand crafted wooden barrel stools to the glassware. The staff is fun mixed in with passionate whiskey drinkers making this experience an education with spirits on the side. You can purchase your favorite bourbon or whiskey to take home with you. It’s one of the best new happening in Vail Village.

Blü Cow

A happening new spot in Vail Village–next to Shakedown that serves cocktails and the famous Swiss Hot Dog! Neat and sharp interior with two walls covered with cow bells–or more importantly ski race bells.  They serve late night food and are open till 2 pm serving cocktails.

Vintage

New craft cocktail bar and a fantastic brunch daily–with mimosa’s.  It’s located on the west end of Vail Village in Kelly Liken’s former location. It’s within walking distance of the Vail Mountain Lodge or we have hotel transportation to Vintage and, of course, the in-town bus.

Remedy

Located in the Four Seasons this is their lobby bar and it’s constantly festive. They have craft cocktails and a ‘remedy” for anything the ails you. Just read the coasters!

They have a wall of TV’s for the sports addicts and comfortable indoor and outdoor seating. They have an interesting menu that does change but it’s a fantastic place to enjoy an evening.  The Four Season will give you a ride back to Vail Mountain Lodge, once you’ve had your fun.

They have also changed up a few things and have added evening live entertainment like an 80’s band!  They do have live Après entertainment as well.

The White Buffalo

This is formerly the Tavern on the Gore,  The White Buffalo has been renovated so it has opened up the space from bar area to the outside–very excited change.  There is a lounge area near the glass doors that overlooks the river which is fantastic for après ski and craft cocktails with friends.

It’s located by the children’s fountain, across from Axel’s and next to Fuzziwig’s the candy store.  They do have a happy hour and the menu continues to be updated–normal for a new restaurant. They do have espresso so you can have a real espresso martini.

Root and Flower

They call themselves a Wine Bar and they do have an extensive menu–also for bubbly.  You can purchase by the glass or bottle and have craft cocktails with appetizer pairings.  It’s a new little gem with bar seating and 4 tables for guests and relaxing during après ski.  It’s located next to American Ski Exchange, kiddy corner from Vendetta’s outside patio.

New Chair 2–this is on the mountain and not a bar–its a lift.

Chair 2 on Vail Mountain has been replaced with a brand new 6 person chair.  So if you love Pickeroon, the lines will move much quicker!

Enjoy your time in Vail and if anything else pops up we will let you know!
