While it “may” seem quiet in Vail, Colorado right now, you “may” be surprised at all the fun that can still be had in town. A little quiet “may” actually be good for you and as most of us know- sometimes these can be the most interesting and fun days!

Terra Bistro– the on-site restaurant is open at 5 pm, for Happy Hour. View the Happy Hour menu-as it’s recently been updated!

La Tour Restaurant & Bar, Vail Village
La Tour is open every day during off-season. Specials include 40% off all dinner entrees and 30% off select bottles of wine. All lunch entrees are $13.95. Reservations are accepted. (970) 476-4403
Bully Ranch, Vail Village in the Sonnenalpe Hotel
This happens to be one of our favorite restaurants after Terra Bistro, of course. The Bully Ranch has a fantastic happy hour, available from 3 to 6 pm and again 9 to 11 p.m. Who doesn’t love that? They are known for their mudslides, which are a chilly glass of goodness. During happy hour enjoy mudslides for they are $4.50; Drafts are $4 (and they have good German beer), well drinks and select wines are $5. If you’re hungry nosh on $1 wings, $3 fish tacos and $6 truffle tots. (970) 479-5460

Pepi’s Bar and Restaurant
Today is opening day for the spring and summer season at Pepi’s which boasts one of the best decks in town for sun and people watching. They will likely run specials but nothing is published.
10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room, Vail Village
10th Mountain Whiskey Tasting Room is another local favorite! You can taste their whiskey, bourbon, rye and vodka or sip on one of their signature drinks. On Friday evenings they have two for one drinks and live music from 7 to 9 p.m. Dave Anderson performs acoustic covers including classic rock and country selections.
On Wednesday’s they have 25% off everything including drinks and merchandise. If you taste something you like, purchase a bottle of your favorite bourbon to take home. Or sit back and relax with a refreshing cocktail and look at the creek! (970) 470-4215

Remedy at the Four Seasons Hotel
This is a fantastic hotel bar with spectacular views of Vail Mountain, a comfy deck off the bar complete with fire bowls they light when the sun goes down. Enjoy a lovely happy hour from 4 to 6 p.m daily. Beer and wine is half off with a quality selection of wine, bubbly and beer. The bar menu that continually improves. Timberline Tours is running rafting trips at this time. It can be chilly but they will supply wet suits. Be sure to request gloves! And even though it can be a bit cold, it’s still a ton of fun since the rivers are really flowing up here in the springtime.

Iron Mountain Hot Springs
Iron Mountain Hot Springs is located in Glenwood Springs, which is about a 50 minute drive west from Vail. It’s well worth the trip if you need to soak and relax.

Most of the hiking on Vail Mountain is not possible at this time as there is still too much snow. However, Eagle is just a short drive west and the trails in that area are open and dry.

There are plenty of shops open in Vail and they are running sales at this time of the year. Explore unique shops you can’t find anywhere else, and score on specialty items and clothes.
The Silverthorne Outlet stores are just a quick drive east if you are in the shopping spree mood.
